I-200 NEW EDITION
Basic Incident Command System (ICS)
This class introduces you to the principles associated with ICS; including organization, facilities, resource terminology and common responsibilities associated with incident or event assignments. Includes I-100 and National Incident Management System (NIMS). - check schedule

I-300
Intermediate Incident Command System
This course provides additional description and detail of the organization and operation of the ICS. Also included is the management of resources, description of all position duties and examples of essential principles used in incident planning. Includes National Incident Management System (NIMS). Prerequisite: I-200. - check schedule

I-400/401 NEW EDITION
Advanced ICS & Multi-agency Coordination
This course expands upon information covered in I-300 directing the trainee toward an operational understanding of large single-agency and complex multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional incident response. This participative workshop focuses on area command and staff issues, as well as the planning. logistical and fiscal considerations associated with complex incident management and interagency coordination. Module 16 addresses the essential differences between area command, Multi-agency Coordination Systems and jurisdictional Emergency Operation Centers. FI-210
Fire Investigation Training
This course is designed to prepare an individual for basic fire investigation responsibilities in the area of origin and cause determination. Students successfully completing this course will receive full credit for FI-210 as required by NWCG certification standards. - check schedule

S-200 
Initial Attack Incident Commander
This course is designed to provide the individual in charge of small initial attack fires; the training needed to size-up, deploy forces, suppression, mop-up, communications and administrative duties. 2 sessions. Prerequisite:FFT1 (quals) - check schedule

Pumps & Water Use
This course gives the student practical knowledge and application skills of portable pump operations. Field exercises train students in the setup and operation of a portable pump along with foam operations. 2 sessions - check schedule

S-212 
Wildfire Power saws
This class is designed to train students in the proper use of chain saws and techniques necessary to prepare them for their functional role as a chain saw operator on an incident. Class A certification is now available with this 5-day class & field session. 2 sessions - check schedule

S-230 
Single Resource Boss
This course is designed to meet the training needs of a crew boss on an incident. Units include preparation, mobilization, tactics & safety, off line duties, demobilization and post incident responsibilities. FFT1 (quals), S-131 & S-290 are the prerequisites. 2 sessions. check schedule

S-231 
Engine Boss
This course provides single resource boss training relevant to the engine boss position. Units covered include: identifying crew and engine capabilities; gathering information for assignments; communicating and coordinating effectively with crew members; tactics and safety. Prerequisites include FFT1 (quals) and S-230. 2 sessions. check schedule

S-234 
Ignition Operations
This course is designed to train the single resource boss in the functional roles and responsibilities associated with planning and managing an ignition operation. The course will cover planning for the burning operation, ignition techniques, firing devices and vegetative fuel types. If weather permits, a field exercise and/or prescribed fire will be included. Prerequisites: S-290 & FFT1 qualified. check schedule

S-270 
Basic Air Operations
This course offers information on the uses of aircraft in fire suppression and provides instruction on how to conduct oneself in and around aircraft. It will familiarize the trainee with tactical and logistical uses of aircraft in fire suppression, as well as, describe the specifications for helicopter landing areas. Prerequisite: FFT1 or EDRC qualified. check schedule

Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior
This skills course is designed to instruct prospective fire line supervisors in wildland fire behavior for effective and safe fire management operations. Prerequisite:S130/S190. 2 sessions - check schedule

S-330 
Task Force/ Strike Team Leader
This course meets the training requirements for the positions of Task Force and Strike Team Leader. The course is designed to be interactive with several scenarios and exercises specific to wildland fire suppression. Prerequisites include S-215 (S205) and single resource boss-qualified. check schedule

S-339 
Division/Group Supervisor
This course prepares the student to perform in the role of division/group supervisor or in the Incident Command System (ICS), both of which the student should learn through prerequisite course work. Topics include: division/group managment, organizational interaction and division operations. Prerequisite: Qualified as task force leader (TFLD) or qualified as an incident commander type 3 (ICT3). check schedule

CGT3
Type 3 Command & General Staff Workshop
This is not a NWCG course. This course is intended for potential and qualified Type III Incident Commanders. The course will cover the information needed for effective management of Type III incidents; organizational skills; agreements with local, state and federal agencies; incident business requirements; and informational transfer and transitioning with Type I and Type II teams. Prerequisite: Division supervisor, company officer qualified, agency administrator or county emergency personnel. - check schedule

ROSS
Resource Ordering Statusing System
This course is designed to introduce the student to the Resource Ordering and Statusing System (ROSS). It includes both lecture and hands on with computers. Students will be maneuvering in the ROSS program utilizing exercises that simulate actual dispatch ordering. Students will utilize the most recent version of ROSS. Prerequisite: D-110. check schedule

NFIRS
Introduction to NFIRS for Wildland Fire Reporting<>
Offered June 3rd and June 4th – choose one day. This one-day course is a condensed version of the National Fire Academy's two-day Introduction to NFIRS 5.0 course. This course will provide students the tools necessary to implement the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) 5.0 in their respective jurisdictions. Students will be provided instruction on the NFIRS 5.0 coding structure and an overview of the NFIRS 5.0 modules, with emphasis on wildland fire reporting.  Participants will also be introduced to the federal client tool (FCT) and web-based reporting. This class is sponsored by the Colorado Division of Fire Safety at no cost! - check schedule

Human Factors on the Fireline
This training course is designed for unit-level supervisors to use when delivering orientation training to new crew members. The stand alone training package is available in the NWCG Publication Management System. An adapted version will be included as Unit 4 in the 2003 edition of S-130, Basic Firefighter. Presentation of the course involves a few short lecture segments, but the primary content is delivered by video and supported with small group exercises. Topic areas include: situation awareness, basic communication responsibilities, attitude & stress barriers, decision making process and teamwork principles. - check schedule

L-280
Followership to Leadership
This training is designed as a self-assessment opportunity for individuals preparing to step into a leadership role. The course combines one day of classroom instruction followed by a second day in the field with students working through a series of problem solving events in small teams.  Topics include: leadership values and principles; transition challenges for new leaders; situational leadership; team cohesion factors; ethical decision-making. Prerequisites: L-180 & experience on incident assignments in operations or support functions. - check schedule

S-130/190 - 3 Sessions!
Basic Fire fighting & Wildfire Behavior
This is an entry-level course to assist in the understanding of fire behavior, safety, and effective control of wildland fires. Valuable experience is gained in the field exercises. This course includes an overnight spike camp. Includes L-180. No prerequisites required, however this course is required to receive your red card. 3 sessions - check schedule

S-131 
Advanced Firefighter Training
This new course is designed for the Advanced Firefighter and Squad Boss to include tactics and safety. It is an interactive course, facilitated by group exercises. 3 sessions. Prerequisite:S130/S190. - check schedule

S-203 
Information Officer
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to serve as Type 3 Information Officers (IOF3). It touches on all aspects of establishing and maintaining an incident information operation, communicating with internal and external audiences, to handling special situations. - check schedule

S-215
Fire Operations in the Urban Interface
This course is designed to assist structure and wildland firefighters who will be making tactical decisions when confronting wildland fire that threatens life, property and improvements in the wildland/urban interface. Instructional units include: interface awareness, size-up, initial strategy & incident action plan, structural triage, structure protection tactics, incident action plan assessment & update, follow up & public relations, and firefighter safety in the interface. Prerequisite: Should be single resource boss (SRB) qualified. 2 sessions - check schedule

S-260 
Incident Business Management
Discusses business management principles associated with incidents. This course includes: employee responsibilities and conduct; recruitment; personnel time recording; pay and commissary; correct reporting procedures for traumatic injuries/ occupational diseases; procurement and equipment time recording; property documentation; cooperative agreements with other agencies; and claims/ accident investigations. 2 sessions - check schedule

S-261 
Applied Interagency Incident Business
This course is designed to provide the prerequisite skills/knowledge necessary to perform the task of entry-level positions for commissary manager, personnel time recorder, equipment time recorder, compensation for injury specialist and claims specialist. Prerequisite: S-260. - check schedule

S-270 / S-271 (S-217)
Interagency Helicopter Training
This is a combined classroom/field course designed to provide student proficiency in all areas of the tactical and logistical use of helicopters to achieve efficiency and standardization. Topics include: safety, personal protective equipment, capabilities and limitations, load calculations, helicopter makes and models, landing areas, fueling, contract administration, cargo transport, and helibase/helispot organization and operations, Missions and organizations introduce students to subsequent specialized training options. Includes S-270. Prerequisite: FFT1 or EDRC qualified. check schedule

S-300 NEW EDITION
Incident Commander/ Multiple Resources
The course objectives include: gathering information about the incident; establishing priorities and suppression action; developing an organization; arranging and/or incorporating incoming resources; brief and provide accurate records to relief team. Prerequisite: ICT4 & Task Force Leader (TFLD) OR Strike Team Leader and any two single resource boss positions (one must be crew (CRWB) or engine (ENGB). - check schedule

S-336
Fire Suppression Tactics
The course is designed to support training requirements in the Operations Section of the Incident Command System. It is designed primarily to instruct experienced single resource bosses and initial attack incident commanders in the tactics necessary at the strike team/task force leader level. It is also valuable for operations supervisors qualified at higher management levels who have not received training in wildfire suppression tactics. Lecture and exercises in this package are specific to wildland fire suppression, and extensively build upons students' position experience and prerequisite training. MAC
Map & Compass
This course provides the student with a basic level of knowledge and skills associated to land navigation with a map and compass. In addition, the use of GPS as a navigational supplement to maps and compass will be discussed. The orienteering course field exercise will provide students with the opportunity to practice skills and utilize classroom exercises. check schedule

STEX
Design & Delivery of Tactical Decision Games & Sand Table Exercises
The intent of this class is to assist facilitators in the design and delivery of Tactical Decision Games (TDGS) and Sand Table Exercises (STEX). The first part of the class will focus on the design of specific exercises, while the second part focuses on delivery techniques that will enhance the success and effectiveness of the exercises. TDGS/STEX properly designed and delivered, will allow firefighters on your unit to practice situational awareness, to consider and select courses of action, and to practice communicating those decisions. check schedule
