Dear Vendors:

Well it’s that time of year again to be thinking of your participation in the 2006 Colorado Wildfire Academy. The Academy this year will be held at the Montezuma Cortez High School, in Cortez, Colorado the week of June 3rd – 9th. We are expecting approximately 1200 participants. These participants will be from various federal, state, local and private agencies from around the state and country. We also expect participation from some foreign countries again this year.

Booth space to display and sell products is available. An approximately 8'X10' booth space will be $350.00 for the week. This includes hot breakfast & lunch for up to 2 people from your company per day. If more than 2 persons are attending then an extra $15.00 per day per person is required for meals. If available, additional booth spaces are $100.00 each for the week. Truck vendors must purchase a booth space, no extra charge for outside space. An opportunity will also exist to demonstrate your products and apparatus at the VIP day on Thursday.

There will be a Banquet on Wednesday June 7, 2006. This is a great opportunity for staff, instructors, vendors, city officials & other students to mingle and get acquainted. Door prizes will also be given away; these door prizes are collected from the vendors and local businesses. Your donations are greatly appreciated.

This year’s golf tournament will be Tuesday June 6th and will be open to students, staff, and public. Proceeds from this event will be going to the Academy Benefit fund. You are invited to attend this event.

Registration will ONLY be accepted online at the Colorado Wildfire Academy web site, www.cowildfireacademy.com. Registration deadline is April 1st, 2006. Booth space this year will be limited due to space at the facility. Vendor spaces will be assigned to the pre registered vendors first, then remaining vendors on a first come - first serve basis. Set-up will be Friday, June 2nd from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

There is a block of rooms reserved at the Travelodge (970) 565-7778. Rates will be $59.00 plus tax per night and is first come - first serve. Deadline for reservations is April 1st, 2006. Mention that you’re with the Colorado Wildfire Academy to insure you get the discounted rate.

Part III Sales Tax
If you are selling goods at the Colorado Wildfire Academy, you will need to collect this sales tax on all sales and pay this tax prior to leaving. In the past, to save each vendor from obtaining a sales tax license, the Colorado Wildfire Academy was issued a special permit for the Academy event. If this continues in 2006, the Academy will be collecting the tax from each vendor. Each vendor will be responsible for keeping a written record of their daily sales. Check this web page later for more details on the procedure for the 2006 Academy.
