Colorado Wildland Fire & Incident Management Academy

Paul Gleason

Scholarship

Paul Gleason spent his career teaching and learning about fire.  His development of LCES is the foundation of firefighter safety today.

To honor Paul’s memory, the Colorado Wildland Fire & Incident Management Academy has established the Paul Gleason Scholarship.

This annual scholarship covering tuition costs will be awarded to the candidate who best exemplifies Paul’s qualities of safety, vigilance, leadership, and being able to relate to others.

Nominations will be accepted annually, with the scholarship awarded for the Winter Academy (held in January) and/or Summer Academy (held in June).

Paul was a role model in the fire world for many years.  The hope for this scholarship is that it will help future leaders obtain training to safely fight wildfires, carry on Paul’s legacy, and make a positive impact of their own.
